I am honored to share another new blogging friend with you! Her website http://www.kimberlydewberry.com has already been a blessing to me personally and I know you will be blessed by her honest transparency and her heart for ministry! Her Instagram posts are so encouraging and can be found under dewberryauthor. Enjoy!
I am Kimberly Dewberry. By day I work in the mortgage industry, but please don’t hold that against me. 🙂 By night I am an author and blogger. I wake up too early, drink too much coffee and go to bed by the time the clock strikes nine most nights. I cannot get enough of reading and at times I have up to three books going at the same time. I have a nasty habit of smoking that I hope to break one day. 🙁 I love to sing really loud, but only in the car so people’s ears don’t hurt. I have an addiction to stress relieving coloring books and Bible journaling. Getting new office supplies is like Christmas every time and different kinds of pens are my favorite!
I have been serious about my writing for over ten years, but until recently couldn’t find the time to make my dream into a reality. Perfectionism is my “middle” name. Once I realized that I am not perfect, I became committed to my dream. So here I am ready to introduce the world to my writing. Go easy on me; it has taken years to break open this shell of mine.
I live in North Texas with Patrick, Mom, and the only babies we have left at home: Hunny, Delilah and Daphne; all three of the four legged persuasion. I refer to my craft as my second job often, but it is a labor of love for me.
I Am Chosen
I’ll be honest, some days I just don’t feel like I am chosen to do anything meaningful. Why is that? Do you feel like that too? Going through the day-to-day challenges of this world can sometimes seem overwhelming. Sometimes it can feel as though we are not worthy to be chosen by anyone.
As I am writing this post, I am waiting to hear back from an editor for a publishing house on a book I have written. The moment I hit the send button on the email, the darts of doubt stuck in my mind. Is there something in your life happening right now or has something happened in the past that left you feeling less than chosen? You are not alone.
Satan comes to steal our joy. He tells us that we are not worthy enough to be chosen, but that is a lie. If we allow his lies to steal our joy, then our feelings of unworthiness can consume us and lead to negative behavior. This has happened to me!
One negative thing that one person said to me in the past can affect me for years to come. If I allow Satan to remind me of those negative words spoken to me, then it would appear he is victorious. But, oh my friends, Satan is not a winner! God is the winner and his Word prevails over all other words spoken!
We must remain confident that
· We are chosen to be the children of God (Ephesians 1:4).
· We have been created in his image (Genesis 1:27).
· We were created to do good works which have been preordained by him for us (Ephesians 2:10).
· We are chosen from the beginning for salvation through Jesus Christ (2 Thessalonians 2:13).
· Jesus died on the cross so we may have eternal life with him (Romans 4:25).
When those darts of doubt stick in my mind, I must remember that I am chosen. I am chosen to live the purpose of God’s will for my life and that alone brings me joy!
