Ministry Highlights

I have had the best time getting to know and serve the local women of Jacksonville lately! In September, I enjoyed the ladies of  Lakewood United Methodist Church as I served as their retreat speaker at Epworth by the Sea. Our theme for the weekend was “Strong and Courageous” with Joshua 1:9 as our key verse.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

We first addressed why we don’t always feel strong and courageous so that was a great place to begin. Then we learned 3 ways to grow in our strength and courage and lastly, how hope is our resource for this to take place. We had wonderful worship and skits and even enjoyed roasting marshmallows by the fire with a guitar sing-along.

 

Then in October, I had the joy of serving the ladies of Shindler Drive Baptist Church for their women’s event “Pursue”. Our key verse for the event was Jeremiah 29:13.

I taught about what it means to pursue Christ with all of your heart by studying the man who was after “God’s own heart”. We had a wonderful evening that included a steak dinner, smores bar, and worship.
